Philadelphia-based Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust announced that DSW has opened a 17,500-sq.-ft. store at PREIT’s Capital City Mall property, located in Camp Hill, Pa.
Rite Aid Corp. reported Thursday that it lost $54.5 million in the fiscal quarter, narrowed from a loss of $81.5 million a year earlier. The chain has trimmed its projected loss for fiscal 2012 based on the results.
Rite Aid Corp. reported Thursday that it narrowed its loss in the quarter ended Aug. 27 to $94.7 million, from $199.3 million in the year earlier period.
On the heels of its report that it narrowed its loss in the fiscal first quarter to $65.5 million, Rite Aid Corp. said it plans to remodel 500 stores by the end of its fiscal year.
Rite Aid on Thursday morning posted a same-store sales increase of 1.1% for the four weeks ended Jan. 22, including a 2.2% lift across the front-end and growth of 0.6% in pharmacy comparable sales.
