  • Under Armour to open its biggest store to date, in Chicago

    Under Armour has confirmed that it plans to open in March 2015 its latest Brand House at 600 North Michigan Avenue in Chicago’s Magnificent Mile.

    The location will feature nearly 30,000 sq. ft. of interactive retail space, and echo the retail concepts that the brand has successfully executed not only in New York, but also in its hometown in Baltimore, Maryland, and Tysons Corner in McLean, Virginia.

  • 7-Eleven to make Middle East debut, in Dubai

    Dallas -- 7-Eleven has signed a master franchise Agreement with Seven Emirates Investment LLC to develop and operate 7-Eleven stores in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The expansion marks the company's first entry into the Middle East region.
       

  • Divaris announces leases for Richmond shopping centers

    Richmond, Va. — Divaris Real Estate has leased shopping center space in Richmond to two retailers and a restaurant: Family Dollar, Wilson Lee Interiors and Hanako.

    Family Dollar renewed its lease for 7,150 sq. ft. in the Divaris-leased and –managed Midlothian Crossing. Divaris represented the landlord, Midlothian Associates, in the transaction.

  • Forever 21 to open at new NYC enclosed fashion mall

    New York City — Forever 21 has taken space at the Mall at Bay Plaza, which is scheduled to open on August 14. The new store will span about 15,000 sq. ft.

    A new 166,000-sq.-ft. Macy’s and an existing 150,000-sq.-ft. J.C. Penney will anchor the new mall. Forever 21 will join more than 100 retailers at Bay Plaza, including Kay Jewelers, Victoria Secret, H&M and Michael Kors.

  • Report: New retail building planned for Queens

    Queens, N.Y. — A new retail building is reportedly planned for the site of a former adult entertainment club in the Rego Park neighborhood of Queens. According to the Queens Chronicle, a 20,000-sq.-ft. building will occupy the location once occupied by the Goldfingers nightclub, which has been shuttered since 1999.  
  • Blink Fitness jogs into Clifton, N.J., center

    Clifton, N.J. — Blink Fitness has leased a 15,000-sq.-ft. location at the 80,000-sq.-ft. Clifton Plaza shopping center in Clifton, N.J., according to Levin Management (www.levinmgt.com), the property’s managing and leasing agent.

    Co-anchored by a 24,000-sq.-ft. Big Lots and a 14,000-sq.-ft. Dollar Tree, Clifton Plaza’s tenant roster includes GameStop, Radio Shack, Angel Tip Nails & Spa, Bruno’s Pizza, Sally Beauty Supply and Valley National Bank.

  • Studio Movie Grill to open at Town Center Colleyville

    Dallas, Texas — Studio Movie Grill has acquired two leases for a 51,935-sq.-ft. building at the Town Center of Colleyville in Colleyville, Texas, according to Venture Commercial, the broker on the lease sale and assignment transaction.

    Following extensive renovations to the former Colleyville Cinema, the new Studio Movie Grill plans to open in late May.

  • H&M opening big on Fifth Avenue; 57,000-sq.-ft. store is its largest to date

    New York — H&M will open its largest store to date, a 57,000-sq.-ft. flagship on Manhattan’s Fifth Avenue, on July 17.  The massive, museum-inspired store will carry the fast-fashion’s entire product line-up, including maternity, newborn, special sizes along with childrenswear, men’s and women’s apparel, and cosmetics. It will also feature a home department and in-shop stores for accessories and lingerie.

  • Mid-America brings four retailers to Chicago MSA centers

    Oakbrook Terrace, Ill. — Mid-America Asset Management Inc. has secured four new retail leases on behalf of three lifestyle shopping centers in the Chicago metropolitan area. Mid-America represented the landlord in each transaction.

    In Algonquin, Ill., Pure Mountain Company has taken 8,824 sq. ft. at Algonquin Commons in Algonquin, Ill. Premier Commercial Realty represented the tenant. Dick’s Sporting Goods, DSW, Old Navy, PetSmart and Trader Joe’s anchor the 578,825-sq.-ft. Algonquin Commons lifestyle center.

  • Bed Bath & Beyond opens in California, Md.

    Bethesda, Md. — Bed Bath & Beyond has opened a new 23,400-sq.-ft. store at Wildwood Shopping Center in California, Md. This is the retailer’s 19th store in Maryland. J.C. Penney and Belk’s anchor the 289,000-sq.-ft. center. Sax Realty (www.saxrealty.com) represented Bed Bath & Beyond in the transaction. Scheer Partners represented the landlord.
