  • DDR to redevelop four shopping centers in Puerto Rico

    Beachwood, Ohio -- DDR Corp. said Monday it will redevelop four shopping centers in Puerto Rico — Plaza del Sol and Rexville Plaza in Bayamon, Plaza del Norte in Hatillo and Plaza Escorial in Carolina. Total investment is more than $50 million.

  • GoldMax targets 100 stores in Southern California by yearend

    Playa Vista, Calif. -- GoldMax USA, which specializes in buying gold and precious metals from consumers in the United States, announced it has surpassed the 20th store milestone in Southern California with the opening of two more Los Angeles County stores. According to GoldMax co-founders Scott Garber and Jordan Sadoff, the company wants to have 100 stores in Southern California by end of 2012.

  • American Girl to open in St. Louis area

    Middleton, Wis. -- American Girl, a division of Mattel, will open a store at Chesterfield Mall, in the St. Louis suburb of Chesterfield, Mo.

    The 10,850-sq-.ft. American Girl store is slated to open in spring 2012.

  • Multiple stores to open at Stirling Bossier

    Bossier City, La. -- Covington, La.-based Stirling Properties, developer and property manager of Stirling Bossier Shopping Center, in Bossier City, La., announced the addition of Old Navy, Ulta Beauty, Maurices, Mattress Firm, The Joint and GNC to the center’s tenant lineup.

  • Brixmor announces opening of 32 Halloween-themed stores

    New York City -- Brixmor Property Group US said Tuesday that 21 leases have been executed with Spirit Halloween and 11 leases with Halloween City across Brixmor’s property portfolio. 

    The seasonal stores are scheduled to be open through Halloween, and include shopping centers in 19 states.

  • Edens & Avant announces refinancing of unsecured revolving credit facilities

    Columbia, S.C. -- Edens & Avant announced Tuesday that it has closed on the refinancing of its $350 million unsecured revolving credit facility and $30 million unsecured working capital line.

    Both will mature in September 2014, but include two, one-year extensions that could extend both facilities through September 2016.

  • Gap details growth strategy; will test Piperlime store

    New York City -- Gap executives reaffirmed its commitment to reducing square footage at home, aggressive international expansion and online growth during a presentation at Gap Global Creative Center in New York City. Gap also revealed that its online-only Piperlime division will explore a store concept next year and is testing men’s apparel.

  • StreetMac acquires Texas and Oklahoma malls

    Northbrook, Ill. -- StreetMac Asset Managers announced that an affiliate has purchased the Brazos Mall in Lake Jackson, Texas, and the Shawnee Mall in Shawnee, Okla., through a joint venture with an affiliate of Stamford, Conn.-based Five Mile Capital Partners. The seller was Lightstone Properties.

    The two malls have a combined 1.14 million sq. ft. of leasable retail space. Terms were not disclosed. The acquisitions represent StreetMac’s inaugural purchases of retail malls in markets nationwide.

  • JLL to manage Heritage Mall

    Albany, Ore. -- Atlanta-based Jones Lang LaSalle said Tuesday it has been named as the property and leasing manager for Heritage Mall, a 407,354-sq.-ft. regional shopping center located in Albany, Ore.

  • OfficeMax to relocate in College Station

    College Station, Texas -- Houston-based Baker Katz, an X Team International partner, said that it has completed a lease for the relocation of OfficeMax in College Station, Texas.
