Downtown Doral retail phase launches construction

10/14/2014

Miami --A visionary downtown Miami project has launched construction, promising to deliver a mix of uses and a true urban community.

The Shops at Downtown Doral, developed by Lennar Commercial and Codina Partners, has started first-phase construction with a planned completion date of fall 2015. The partnership closed on a $25 million loan to finance the project, and phase one will feature locally owned restaurants and retailers including two concepts by Bulla--a gastrobar and a ceviche restaurant; and Dragonfly, a robata grill and sushi lounge.

Additional retailers in phase one include Continental Bank, Freddo Gelato and OXXO drycleaners.

Located in Miami, downtown Doral is a unique 120-acre mixed-use project that, when completed, will include 2,840 residential units comprised of luxury condominiums, townhouses and apartments; one million sq. ft. of Class A office space, retail and restaurants; a 60,000-sq.-ft. Doral Government Center; a K-5 charter school and Downtown Doral Park, a three-acre park with a pavilion and benches designed by artist Michele Oka Doner.
