ModCloth outsources omnichannel fulfillment

ModCloth is teaming up with a 3PL provider.

A digitally-native indie and vintage-inspired women’s apparel retailer is leveraging a third-party logistics (3PL) platform in its supply chain.

ModCloth is partnering with Cart.com to utilize its 3PL solutions to streamline order fulfillment, optimize its supply chain and improve customer service out of Cart.com’s hosted New Jersey facility. The retailer hopes to automate and simplify supply chain operations and achieve real-time order and inventory visibility while reducing costs.

ModCloth will utilize proprietary Cart.com software, including its Constellation Order Management System and warehouse management technology, as well as a variety of automated systems. Cart.com offers a suite of tech-enabled logistics capabilities, enterprise-grade channel and order management software and expert services.

Nogin, which manages digital operations for fashion and consumer product companies, acquired ModCloth from Go Global Retail in 2021. This followed Walmart’s acquisition of the brand from its founders in 2017. In January 2020, the retail giant sold the company to Go Global Retail. At the time of purchase, Nogin said it planned to reinvigorate ModCloth’s e-commerce operations using its proprietary suite of "intelligent commerce solutions."

"We are delighted to be partnering with Cart.com for our fulfillment solutions," said Gabe Zeitouni, director of ModCloth. "Their comprehensive logistics services, along with our ongoing partnership with Nogin for advanced e-commerce technology, are propelling us towards a future where our unique, inclusive fashion reaches more customers with greater efficiency. Together, these collaborations support our mission to enhance the shopping experience for the ModCloth community, ensuring that each vintage-inspired piece we offer is presented and delivered with care and precision."

"We are excited to work with ModCloth, a leading retailer dedicated to inspiring women and providing high-quality clothing," said Cart.com chief logistics officer Joe Barth. "We look forward to supporting the ModCloth team with our software-enabled omnichannel fulfillment capabilities as the retailer continues to grow its community of loyal customers."

Other brands that have collaborated with Cart.com in recent months include fashion brand Draper James, founded by actress, producer and entrepreneur Reese Witherspoon.

New York-based brand management company Bluestar Alliance also recently partnered with Cart.com to host omnichannel workflows including fulfillment, inventory management, and order management for its portfolio brands Scotch & Soda, Hurley and Bebe.

Founded in 2002, ModCloth is a digitally native retailer known for its vintage-inspired aesthetic, ModCloth offers a diverse range of sizes and has a commitment to environmentally sustainable and ethically produced fashion.
