Mexican chain Waldo’s Dollar Mart streamlines finance, merchandising

Waldo's Dollar Mart is aiding merchandisers with Oracle Cloud.

Waldo’s Dollar Mart is expanding its implementation of Oracle Cloud enterprise technology.

The discount retailer, which operates more than 800 grocery and clothing stores throughout Mexico, is leveraging Oracle Cloud finance and merchandising applications to manage its multi-format business model while scaling to offer customers more products and buying channels and open approximately 70 new stores a year.

By continuing to implement Oracle Cloud enterprise solutions, Waldo's seeks improve financial forecasting and make more informed inventory decisions, supporting efforts such offering its fresh assortment at value prices. The retailer is also implementing Oracle Transportation Management in the Oracle Cloud Supply Chain Management platform. 

By moving to Oracle Cloud, Waldo's says it has consolidated and rationalized more than 62 legacy applications and streamlined business processes across its grocery and clothing operations. The retailer seeks to continue to improve inventory management, planning, and budgeting processes, equipping its merchandisers to make better purchasing decisions.

In addition, Waldo's says it has a consistent user experience and can better manage the legal, regulatory, and corporate complexities of cross-border transactions. It also has the foundation to quickly open new stores.

Other Oracle cloud solutions Waldo’s has rolled out in the past several years include Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP, Oracle Retail Merchandising Cloud Service, Oracle Retail Allocation Cloud Service, Oracle Retail Invoice Matching Cloud Service, Oracle Retail Pricing Service and Oracle Warehouse Management.

Founded in 1999 in Tijuana, Mexico, Waldo's Dollar Mart de México operates more than 800 stores across the country through its two store formats: Waldo's and Waldo's Moda. Waldo’s also operates an e-commerce site and app.
