Foot Locker, Inc. has appointed its new chief human resources officer.

Cindy Carlisle has assumed the role, in addition to executive VP. She will be responsible for developing and executing the footwear retailer’s global human resources strategy in support of its "Lace Up" plan, a transformation designed to “drive the organization's next phase of growth and create value for all stakeholders.”

Carlisle joins Foot Locker from Stryker Corporation, where she spent more than four years and served as group VP of human resources. She previously held leadership positions at Roche Group and Johnson & Johnson, where she spent more than 13 years in different roles.

"We are thrilled to welcome Cindy to our executive leadership team," said Mary Dillon, President and CEO, Foot Locker, Inc. "I am confident that Cindy's deep expertise in HR, culture, engagement, and business strategy will be an incredible asset to our team members as we execute our Lace Up Plan and embark on our next 50 years of growth."

Foot Locker’s recently released fiscal 2023 results showed the company still beat analysts’ expectations despite a loss in net income. On the earnings call, Dillon said Foot Locker would launch an immersive store of the future model in April, with three additional locations slated to open later this year. Under her leadership, the chain launched its “Lace Up” strategy, which includes shifting to off-mall locations and opening new, more experiential formats.

"I am deeply honored to join Foot Locker, Inc. at this critical moment of transformation and growth," said Carlisle. "Foot Locker, Inc. has an incredible team of more than 45,000 diverse, versatile, and dedicated team members across 26 countries, and I look forward to helping them expand sneaker culture globally."
