Bared Footwear opens its first U.S. store

Bared Footwear has opened its first store in the United States, in New York City,  as it looks to build on its online following. 

Located in Manhattan's SoHo neighborhood, the store is also Bared Footwear's first outpost outside of its native Australia.  The brand, founded by a podiatrist and known for its "style-meets-comfort designs," will open its first location in New Zealand in July. It also has its sights set on Los Angeles. 

Built by Turnkey & Bespoke and designed by New York-based Ryann Swan Design, the SoHo store is intended to feel “welcoming” through the use of natural and textural materials as well as greenery. Similar to the experience offered in its Australia locations, the store offers a unique and custom fitting process for each pair of shoes purchased.

The SoHo location carries an extensive inventory of products across categories, including an early release of some of the brand's 2025 summer collection, prior to its launch in Australia. Bared Footwear's product selection includes flats, sandals, sneakers, heels, boots and more, with offerings for both men and women.

During the last few years, the brand's U.S. customer base has grown exponentially through its online business. The company said opening a physical store here was the next logical step.

I’m confident that New Yorkers will love our team of experts and once they try our shoes, they will be addicted to the comfort and support that our footwear provides everyone.”

Baird founded Bared Footwear in 2008, to offer shoes that “look good and feel good.” The brand is known for its commitment to sustainability, bio-based materials and fair wages for workers. 

The company currently operates five flagship stores in Australia.
