Dearborn, Mich. Wal-Mart opened a new Supercenter geared toward Arab-American shoppers in the Detroit suburb of Dearborn.
Catering to the needs of the local community, which has a large Arab-American population, the store showcases a wide selection of multicultural merchandise. The grocery department will offer an expanded selection of Middle Eastern products, as well as a diverse selection of merchandise from health and beauty products to greeting cards.
In addition, associates' nametags will identify which languages they speak.
The Dearborn Supercenter has also partnered with the Henry Ford Museum and the Arab American National Museum to develop a unique display for the store. The permanent display, which consists of 10 photos from both museums' collections, depicts milestones in Dearborn history.
