The lifestyle, culture and history of the surf and art culture in Venice, Calif., provided inspiration for 585 Boardriders, a new flagship concept from Quiksilver. The 10,000-sq.-ft. store houses the company’s assorted apparel brands, from the namesake Quiksilver line to Roxy, ver 500 surfboards, skateboards, paddleboards, and wetsuits. A 15-ft. LCD streaming video display near the rear of the store showcases vintage footage of the 1970’s beach culture of Venice and Santa Monica’s Pacific Ocean Park Pier. Materials found throughout the store evoke the calming waves of Southern California beaches, while a number of art pieces that were handpicked at local flea markets, decorate the walls.
